Summer Game Fest went down yesterday in Los Angeles, and a plethora of game announcements were delivered to a global audience of gamers. We look at five announcements that stood out during the presentation. The full Summer Game Fest event can be seen here.
Killer Inn
Square Enix’s multiplayer title Killer Inn will bring two teams together in one mansion for a wild murder mystery. The Wolves team has to murder everyone in the Lambs team. The Lambs team have no clue who their teammates are, which leads to them trying to discover who’s on their side. Over 20 characters with unique abilities will be available for the choosing. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds guest characters
A slew of guest characters for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds have been announced, and they delivered some unexpected heavy hitters to the roster. Minecraft’s Steve, Persona 5‘s Joker, Like a Dragon’s Ichiban Kasuga, and Hatsune Miku will be joining Sonic and Co. on the racetrack. The racing game will arrive on September 25 via the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will be released at a later date. Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver
No one had “new Wu-Tang Clan video game” on their Summer Game Fest bingo card. Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver is the first game based on the collective since 1999’s Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style. In the game, the player must fight alongside the collective to save Shaolin. Classic tunes from Wu-Tang Clan are expected in the title along with new music from DJ Just Blaze. This will be the debut game from video game studio Brass Lion Entertainment, whose co-founders previously worked on titles such as Def Jam Vendetta, Sleeping Dogs, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
New ILL trailer
A new trailer for the forthcoming body horror title ILL dropped, and it had seasoned horror vets squirming in their seats. The chilling title is the debut effort from Team Clout, which features a team of developers having previous experience working with horror film directors. ILL will make its way onto the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam).
Scott Pilgrim EX
More Scott Pilgrim action is coming to consoles and PC in 2026. Co-op beat-em-up game Scott Pilgrim EX features an original story written by Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, and it’ll take place after the events of Netflix’s Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The game will be developed by Tribute Games, who is best known for titles such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Panzer Paladin. The game is set to launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam).
