New REANIMAL trailer sets Q1 2026 release window

The creators of Little Nightmares 1 & 2 are back with another spooky horror adventure with a co-op twist: REANIMAL. Now, following THQ Nordic’s Digital Showcase 2025, we know it’s coming in Q1 2026.

The new trailer is as dark and disturbing as the previous looks at the game, and it’s titled ‘What Happens After The Flood’ (fitting if we consider how watery and wet everything looks). Watch it right here:

Spoiler: It appears that nothing good at all is happening after the flood. From giant twisted animals to hordes of freaky humanoids and all sorts of rainy weather, the protagonists, a brother-sister duo, are having a really bad time. However, that doesn’t mean this game won’t be a blast to play through with a friend, relative, or special one. Yes, local and online co-op are part of the deal and the way to go. Fear not, as it’s fully beatable in single-player too.

The official press release presents the game as follows:

“Coming from the original creators of Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares 2, REANIMAL is a haunting co-op horror adventure that follows a brother and sister on a desperate journey to rescue their missing friends. Set on a nightmarish island filled with twisted creatures and eerie secrets, players must work together, by boat and on foot, to survive the darkness and uncover the truth. Blending unsettling atmosphere with emotional storytelling, REANIMAL explores childhood trauma through a rich, stylized world teeming with dread. Play solo or in co-op, and prepare to share the scare in a beautifully broken world where hope is the last thing to die.”

This is the new IP that Tarsier Studios has been working on since it was acquired by THQ Nordic. At the same time, a third Little Nightmares game (by Supermassive Games this time around) is set to launch in October 2025; that now-iconic IP belongs to Bandai Namco.

REANIMAL is set to release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. A collector’s edition has just been revealed too.
