Pantheon Rise of the Fallen’s Black Rose Keep update was meant to launch for beta testers on August 27th. It didn’t. Visionary Realms held it back an extra two weeks, though we didn’t know it would be two weeks at the time, owing to “some critical bugs with zoning and aggro that would prevent players from enjoying the new content.” But the devs can turn those frowns upside down because the update is finally ready to go.
“The gates to Black Rose Keep are finally opening tomorrow!” the studio says. “We know many of you were eagerly awaiting Black Rose Keep, and we appreciate your patience with the recent delay. We don’t make delay decisions lightly. For us, a quality release means more than just a smooth launch. It means delivering an experience that’s truly worthy of your time.”
The team calls Black Rose Keep the “most complex dungeon [it’s] ever built” – “a massive, multi-level fortress designed for exploration, cooperation, and challenge” rather than “just another cave full of monsters.”
The announcement post also offers a glimpse of the game’s development after the Keep; the team says it’ll continue tuning the dungeon, working on the Wildbloods POI, and the next major zone, Badia de Cara… which sends players underwater.
“This is an ocean-based area south of the Silent Plains, made up of several island regions, with the primary island of Kosa Ull in the center. The surface of this volcanic caldera is home to the Mawnok who thrive among its sprawling jungles, opaline geysers and obsidian sands. And while Kosa Ull is visited on occasion by treacherous Bone Merchants, the true threat lies deep below the surface, a place where no account is written by any explorer, living or dead. Badia de Cara and Kosa Ull will mark a major step forward for Pantheon. This will be the first area to feature underwater content. The work we are doing here will help us refine these important gameplay systems so that we can use them throughout our game world as we move forward. We can’t wait to show you more as the work continues.”
