Spooky season is upon us, and you know what that means – we’re here to tell you all about indie games! So, without further ado, let’s have a look at some of the coolest upcoming releases from early October!

Genokids (October 2)

A band of musicians take the fight to an invading alien force in this flashy, anime-style hack & slash action game. I mean, those aliens gotta pay for interrupting their concert, you know?

Castle of Heart: Retold (October 3)

A challenging soulslike platformer inspired by Slavic mythology, Castle of Heart: Retold chronicles the journey of a cursed knight whose body was turned into stone and is slowly disintegrating. Ouch.

DAIMON BLADES (October 6)

A first-person slasher where you take on the role of a demon-slaying warrior monk hell-bent on bringing a traitor to justice. But you know what’s better than slaying demons alone? Slaying them in 4-player co-op. In DAIMON BLADES, you’ll get to do that, too.

House of Necrosis (October 6)

Do you miss the PlayStation 1, and specifically, the vibes of the original Resident Evil? If so, House of Necrosis is here to invite you into a creepy mansion filled with creepy monsters – the kind of mansion whose layout changes every time you enter it.

Shrine’s Legacy (October 7)

A pixel art action-RPG inspired by the 16-bit/SNES era, Shrine’s Legacy will take you on a classic JRPG journey as two young heroes, Rio and Reima, try to save the world from the forces of evil. Playable in co-op, too!

Bye Sweet Carole (October 9)

Inspired by classic animated films, narrative horror game Bye Sweet Carole will have you explore the Bunny Hall Orphanage and the fantastical kingdom of Corolla in an attempt to uncover their darkest secrets. Also, did I tell you the protagonist is a shapeshifter capable of turning into a rabbit? Because she is.

Absolum (October 9)

A fantasy roguelike beat ‘em up with an incredibly eye-catching art style, plenty of action to get you hooked, and multiple playable characters to pick from. It reminded us of the classic Golden Axe games, which is always a good thing.

And that’s it for our personal picks from the early October gaming season! There is more to come, though, so check back soon for Part 2 as we continue our exploration of upcoming indie games throughout the month!
