Top 25 College Football Wide Receivers

Top 25 College Football Wide Receivers

The college football season is approaching. There is always debate over ranking the best players in the sport. Here are the top 25 college football wide receivers heading into the 2025 season. Note: There is some projection in these rankings for the upcoming season. These are not NFL Draft rankings, but rather focus on the best players in college football.

25-21

25. Barion Brown, LSU Tigers

Brown’s production dipped at Kentucky each year he was there, but the quarterback play also declined. Now at LSU, he could provide a dynamic game-changer because of his speed.

24. Dane Key, Nebraska Cornhuskers

Despite not having great quarterback play last season, Key had 47 receptions for 715 yards and two touchdowns at Kentucky. He’ll be a key for Dylan Raiola and his development.

23. Nick Marsh, Michigan State Spartans

Marsh was one of the many true freshmen wide receivers who stood out. He’ll be looking to do better this season after catching 41 passes for 649 yards and three touchdowns in 2024.

22. Ryan Wingo, Texas Longhorns

Wingo had 472 receiving yards for Texas as a true freshman last season and that was with some other talented receivers playing more snaps. With Arch Manning and he taking over this season, a big year is on the way.

21. Eric Rivers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Rivers is a former defensive back who transferred from Memphis to FIU and now to Georgia Tech. He’ll have some big shoes to fill, but he did have over 1,100 receiving yards last season.

20-16

20. Makai Lemon, USC Trojans

Lemon will pair with Ja’Kobi Lane to give USC some quality receivers. Last season, he had 764 receiving yards and can build off of that now.

19. Nic Anderson, LSU Tigers

Anderson had nearly 800 receiving yards in 2023 for Oklahoma, but then was injured in 2024. He can now provide Garrett Nussmeier with a new option to use this season.

18. TJ Moore, Clemson Tigers

Moore will pair with others to give Clemson a deep receiver room after he had 651 receiving yards and five touchdowns last season.

17. Jaden Greathouse, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Greathouse had 592 receiving yards for Notre Dame last season and played specifically well down the stretch. With an offense looking to pass the ball more this season, Greathouse is going to be more of a focal point.

16. Bryant Wesco, Clemson Tigers

His freshman season saw him have 708 receiving yards. As Klubnik continues to improve and Wesco does himself, his stats should increase this season.

15-11

15. Ja’Kobi Lane, USC Trojans

Lane is a touchdown machine, hauling in 12 in 2024. While he only had 525 receiving yards, his red zone presence helps him rank here on this list. This season should see more opportunities for Lane with other receivers transferring out.

14. Malachi Fields, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Fields is a bigger receiver who had over 800 yards and five touchdowns in each of his last two seasons for Virginia. He now will improve Notre Dame’s receiving game as they look to compete more.

13. Germie Bernard, Alabama Crimson Tide

Bernard went from Michigan State to Washington to Alabama, with last season being his best yet. With the Crimson Tide, he provided a great secondary option to Ryan Williams with 50 catches for 794 yards and two touchdowns.

12. KC Concepcion, Texas A&M Aggies

His freshman season saw Concepcion rack up 839 receiving yards and 320 rushing yards. While there was a severe dip in his sophomore season, he now gets a fresh start at Texas A&M.

11. Trebor Pena, Penn State Nittany Lions

Pena hauled in 84 passes for 941 yards and nine touchdowns at Syracuse last season. Penn State needed to make a concerted effort to improve their receiver room, and the addition of Pena aids them with that.

10-6

10. Elijah Sarratt, Indiana Hoosiers

After a great season at JMU, Sarratt transferred to Indiana, following his coach, Curt Cignetti. Sarratt had a great season, even with the level up in competition, catching 53 passes for 957 yards and eight touchdowns.

9. Aaron Anderson, LSU Tigers

Anderons was Garrett Nussmeier’s favorite target last season with 61 catches for 884 yards and five touchdowns. There are a lot of new mouths to feed, so his production could take a dip, but ideally, the multiple threats allow everyone to put up numbers.

8. Eric Singleton, Auburn Tigers

Georgia Tech had quarterback injury issues, but they still found ways to get their speedster, Singleton, the ball. He had 754 receiving yards and 151 rushing yards in 2024. He now gives Auburn a good pair of wide receivers to work with.

7. Antonio Williams, Clemson Tigers

With Cade Klubnik emerging at quarterback, Williams had his best season at Clemson in 2024. He had 75 catches for 904 yards and 11 touchdowns.

6. Cam Coleman, Auburn Tigers

Auburn had disappointing quarterback play last season, but Coleman still had 598 receiving yards and eight touchdowns as a true freshman. With his own development and better quarterback play on the way, a huge step forward should be expected.

5-1

5. Carnell Tate, Ohio State Buckeyes

As Ohio State’s third target in 2024, Tate posted 52 catches for 733 yards and four touchdowns. His role will increase with Emeka Egbuka going to the NFL, so more production should be coming his way.

4. Denzel Boston, Washington Huskies

Boston was behind some pretty talented receivers at Washington, but finally got his chance to break out last season. He hauled in 63 passes for 834 yards and nine touchdowns.

3. Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State Sun Devils

Tyson was hurt and had to miss the CFP, but he had a highly productive season otherwise. With 75 catches for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns, Tyson is a key to Arizona State competing in the Big 12 again.

2. Ryan Williams, Alabama Crimson Tide

Williams had a great freshman season that was only overshadowed by the top player on this list. He had 865 receiving yards and eight touchdowns with the chance to produce more in 2025 with a quarterback who fits into Kalen DeBoer’s system.

1. Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State Buckeyes

Smith is possibly the best player in all of college football after posting 1,315 receiving yards as a freshman and helping the Buckeyes win a title. Teams will focus on him, but he will still produce this season.
