Xbox Game Pass and Antstream Arcade Team Up To Bring Over 50 Retro Classics to Fans

A new update has hit Xbox Game Pass today bringing new features to the service, but more importantly, it brings over 50 retro games to the catalogue.

In a surprising move, Xbox just rolled out their May update. The May update brings a wealth of new content and features to the Xbox experience, including Xbox Game Pass. This month, Xbox has deployed a wealth of new retro classic titles to the service as a bonus for subscribers with no extra cost added. On top of the retro inclusions, players who stream on the Xbox app on PC now have an additional streaming option with GeForce Now allowing libraries to be accessed from more convenient locations.

Xbox Game Pass May Update Brings Over 50 Retro Classics To The Service

Retro Classics is a collaboration between Xbox and Antstream Arcade, and it’s available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to access globally. As of this post, Game Pass members can dive into a collection of 50+ classic Activision games from the ’80s and ’90s bringing more nostalgia to the Game Pass catalogue.

Classics like Pitfall!, Dragster, and Commando can be played without an additional cost to subscribers. Over 50 additions have been included with the collaboration, and Game Pass members can look forward to discovering additional games added from Activision and Blizzard, expanding the Retro Classics collection to more than 100+ titles over time. With Retro Classics, Xbox Game Pass members can expect a seamless gaming experience across consoles, PC, and supported devices with cloud gaming. 

On top of the retro classics, Xbox has also deployed smart fixes to PC Game Pass. Microsoft Edge Game Assist is coming soon, and it allows players who use Microsoft Edge a full browser experience that brings tips, walkthroughs, playlists, and sites like Discord, Spotify, and Twitch right into the game. Players can use the Windows + G shortcut to open the experience in ‘Game Bar’ at any time during a gameplay session, and close it just as easily.

Xbox Game Pass May Update Brings Over 50 Retro Classics To The Service

Xbox players now also have an additional option in the Xbox app on PC for playing via cloud gaming with GeForce Now.  If a game is available on GeForce Now, players will see a pop-up when clicking the Play button on the product page, at which time they can select their preferred cloud gaming option.
